A coffee tumbler has always been our friend when we want to roam around with a sip of coffee every once in a while. Speaking of which, RTIC and Yeti are two brands that pop up in everyone’s mind. But which one is better? You’ll find that out in the ultimate RTIC vs Yeti Tumbler battle.

RTIC vs Yeti Tumbler Review

Before we sort that out, you should know what a tumbler is?

A tumbler or travel mug is an insulated pot that keeps your coffee warm for a long time. There’s no spilling, no cooling off & most importantly, it saves us from wasting one time cups unnecessarily.

You might think it’s kind of a thermos!

Yes, it is. Although not all the coffee mugs come with insulation feature, so you can call them a thermos unless it has an insulation layer.

Luckily, the products we are talking about both have an insulation layer. So you don’t have to worry about your coffee being cold.

In this product comparison, we are going to discuss two particular models from these two brands.

They are— RTIC 30 oz Stainless Steel Tumbler Cup & Yeti Rambler 30 oz Tumbler.

Both of them are equally excellent, yet have a little bit difference on both features & hands on inspection. Anyways, let’s cut to the chase and have a look at their insights.

The Comparison of RTIC and YETI

We are going to focus on the features & performance to complete the comparison. The features are pretty much the same for both of them, but they’re different in a thing or two.

Below is a comparison chart for better display of the features—

No products found.

Now that you know the features of them, it’s time to check for the performance. The price range says a lot about its performance. Anyways, let’s check out how they perform.

Tumbler Performance

While experimenting on these two products, we considered duration of holding the temperature, lid sealing, measurement, etc.

So here goes the head to head battle—

Holding Liquid Temperature

Despite being coffee tumblers, both of them actually specializes in cold insulation. Both RTIC and Yeti did an excellent job on keeping the cold liquids cold, even they successfully managed to hold up ice for a long time.

Although the duration is where the RTIC goes a long way. RTIC could successfully hold up the actual cool temperature for almost 10-12 hours.

Although they mentioned 24 hours in the features, 12 hours duration seems quite impressive.

On the other hand, Yeti managed to hold up the ice for 7-8 hours. It’s pretty okay, but considering the price, it is definitely not up to the mark.

About hot liquids, Yeti provides a superior result this time. It managed to keep our coffee scorching hot for 3-4 hours & warm for like 5-6 hours. This is pretty impressive even for a thermos bottle too.

On the other hand, RTIC couldn’t hold up the heat even for 2 hours. We were actually disappointed to see the results having a high expectation of what it did on cold beverages.

But overall, both of them actually did a great job. Most of the coffee tumblers don’t have an insulation layer either, where these two did a great job on holding the temperature.

Lid Sealing

About lids, these two actually offers different types of lids. Their lids work differently which definitely has a role in their performance.

The Yeti Rambler Tumbler has a magnetic lid, which makes it easier to open or close. It also supports straw, although doesn’t come with one. But the lid was not 100% sealed when we closed the leads.

There were spills here and there with vigorous shaking. But easy opening and closing make this super comfortable to use.

On the other hand, RTIC did a pretty great job on the lid sealing. It kind of feels like an airtight seal, doesn’t spill quite much, but still spills.

But what makes it worse is its uncomfortable lid position, which makes it quite troublesome to open and close. Also, the sealing doesn’t work every time, only when you’re using cold liquid.

Measurement

The RTIC coffee tumbler is pretty tall in shape which makes it easier to grab and hold. Although larger diameter than the yeti doesn’t make it any more comfortable.

Yeti has almost the same height as RTIC, but narrower in diameter. So carrying it seems more comfortable, even it easily accommodates in our backpack water pouch.

Final Words

Overall, both of them seem quite excellent to uses in spite of some flaws. According to our suggestion, you should go for the RTIC tumbler as it costs only half the price of the Yeti Rambler Tumbler, yet provides a neck to neck performance with its competitor. But performance-wise, Yeti is our winner.
